HOW CAN I WATCH NHRA DRAG RACING SERIES
New programming will be added each month, including recent seasons from NHRA on FOX, and exclusive original programming which will give fans the opportunity to watch the thrills and intense action of NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series racing at their convenience all year long. In addition, newly digitized content that hasn’t been viewed in decades will roll out very soon. The NHRA channel will feature an extensive dive into the history of the sport with more than 60 years of programming on display, including the best from the Diamond P Sports archive that dates back to 1983. The NHRA channel is expected to launch on additional platforms in the coming months. The channel is also available now on Plex, LocalNow, Rad TV, The Roku Channel (Canada), Zeasn, SelectTV, Sports.TV and SportsTribal (international territories). But as far as I know all 50 states including Hawaii and Alaska have at least one drag strip.NHRA championship drag racing fans now have access to exclusive NHRA programming for free on a dedicated 24/7 channel.Īvailable now on 10 streaming platforms and services, the NHRA channel launched Monday, November 15 on Tubi, FOX Entertainment’s free streaming service, and Tuesday, November 16 on The Roku Channel (channel 249) in the U.S. It's the most accessible motorsport, with Autocross in second than dirt track racing third.Īs for regions, I would say Southern California is the drag racing capital but the Great Lakes states (especially Illinois, Michigan and Indiana) drag racing is really popular there.Ī few other states like Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Arizona and Nevada also have strong drag racing scenes.Įveryone else it has a strong niche following. That being said as an amateur motorsport, drag racing is number 1 by far. With Indy I feel 99% of fans only watch the Indy 500 and don't care about the rest of the series at all.Ī lot of older Americans will know NHRA names like Don Prudhome, Tom McEwen, Don Garlits, Shirley Muldowney, from when drag racing was huge in the 60s-70s but it started to decline in the 80s.
HOW CAN I WATCH NHRA DRAG RACING PRO
I would say at the pro level it's NASCAR by far but NHRA as a distant second and Indycar as a distant third. I personally love John Force and Ron Capps, right now! They're amazing and hilarious together. I mean, there are rivalries, but not like in other sports where if you're a fan of team A, then you automatically hate team B. It was weird when I first started watching, bc there's not that many racers to hate. It seems to be passed from generation to generation. We have an entire album of Shirley Muldowney from about 30 years ago that he took.
My husband was raised around NHRA as his father was a photographer at a lot of the races when my husband was little. You're correct that the NHRA fans are intense in their love for the sport, as well. However, even if you're not a NASCAR fan, you know the Earnhardt's, the Petty's and Jeff Gordon. We have local dragstrips that I was aware of and had been to but I'd never heard of ANY famous drag racer. (36F from Ohio) I'm a huge NHRA fan, now, bc I was introduced to it by my husband when we started dating 10 yrs ago, but before that I didn't even know it really existed.
